PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US) – September 03, 2008 – GTECH Corporation has signed a contract with Chile’s Polla Chilena de Beneficencia S.A. (Polla Chilena) to provide a full range of solutions and services including a new online and instant ticket lottery system, fixed-odds sports betting event and risk management services, an interactive platform, approximately 2,200 Altura® terminals, and a communications network. This contract signing follows a competitive procurement. Polla Chilena administers and operates national online and instant lottery games, and fixed-odds sports betting in Chile. The seven-year contract, with the option to extend for an additional two years, is expected to commence in September 2009.

Under the terms of the agreement, GTECH will install the Company’s Enterprise Series™ (ES) central system and Altura terminals, as well as a new communications network. Polla Chilena, requiring the best-of-breed in new products, channels, and professional services, will also receive GTECH’s leading solutions in ES NewMedia™ and Finsoft’s MarginMaker™ sports-betting solutions. In addition, Finsoft will offer professional risk management services to Polla Chilena.
In the future, GTECH will also provide Polla Chilena with an online, in-lane solution which will give retailers the ability to process lottery transactions through non-lottery dedicated point-of-sale (POS) devices.
In addition to this new contract with Polla Chilena, GTECH currently provides electronic bill-payment services, cellular phone top-ups, and domestic wire transfers available at more than 700 terminals throughout Chile via the Company’s locally-branded business Sencillito®, which was also named one of Chile’s Superbrands earlier in 2008.
